Job Title: QC Lab Technician - 1st Shift

Work Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

Summary:

The QC Lab Technician supports laboratory-based investigations by performing chemical analyses, routine technical tasks, and quality control testing. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective teamwork to ensure accurate and timely results in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques.
  • Prepares, collects, and tests samples, solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
  • Maintains laboratory glassware and equipment by cleaning, sterilizing, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs as needed.
  • Manages laboratory inventory by tracking supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipt of materials.
  • Documents and records data accurately in laboratory notebooks and daily logs, ensuring compliance with guidelines and effective organization.
  • Analyzes and interprets data, reports results, and resolves problems by evaluating findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Performs quality control testing for release of raw materials, in-process, and finished products, and inspects annual retain samples at designated intervals.
  • Adheres to safety requirements, keeps up-to-date with scientific developments, and supports new requests to enhance laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Previous practical laboratory work experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple job duties.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, write reports, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Strong reasoning skills to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, internet browsers, and email applications.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently; capable of standing, walking, climbing, crouching, and reaching as required.
  • Comfortable working in environments with moderate noise and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, requiring use of protective gear.
