Summary:

The Biomedical Technician II is responsible for the repair, calibration, inspection, and maintenance of a wide range of biomedical equipment and systems. This role ensures equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards, while providing technical support and maintaining high customer service standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, calibrate, and maintain various therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical devices and systems to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform electrical safety testing on medical equipment on a routine schedule.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records for equipment inspections, repairs, and failures, ensuring all paperwork is completed promptly.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and government regulations while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams to coordinate service and resolve issues.
  • Control costs within budgetary guidelines and maintain productivity according to established requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Biomedical Technology or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Biomedical Technician.
  • CBET certification preferred.
  • Strong skills in repair, inspection, and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear for extended periods (over 2/3 of the time).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time.
