Job Title: Master Supply Planner

Work Location: Mecklenburg County, North Carolina

Summary:

The Master Supply Planner directs the planning function to ensure alignment between functional departments. The Master Supply Planner will develop and maintain a 6-month production and tolling plan and daily production schedules to ensure on-time supply to meet customer needs and operational efficiency. Manages and orders all tolled and purchased finished goods. The Master Supply Planner must deliver on inventory targets while balancing production capacity and is expected to drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide solutions to workflow problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule production by integrating forecasts, customer orders, inventory, and capacity
  • Collaborate with demand planner, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to balance supply and demand
  • Assists purchasing in entering and sending monthly raw material purchase orders as needed
  • Create and manage the work order process for production and packaging
  • Create work orders for and manage packaging material deliveries in accordance with packaging needs
  • Direct outside tolling operations, issuing forecasts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules as required
  • Manage and reconcile monthly inventory consignment process with required toll partners
  • Track on time delivery measures monthly and create visual for the monthly S&OP meeting
  • Develop prime and nonprime inventory analysis as required for projected cost expenditures
  • Manage Excess/Nonprime analysis and facilitate tracking and disposition of all nonprime inventory, including the appropriate coding in JDE
  • Play a key role in S&OP process and strategic planning to align sales needs with manufacturing capabilities, presenting in monthly S&OP Meetings
  • Develop models to perform and present “What If” analyses in support of new or revised demand opportunities or projected business scenarios
  • Direct and facilitate new product coding and MRP Bill of Material changes based on Engineering Change Orders
  • Develop process improvements and provide solutions to complex problems

Collaboration:

  • Customer Service and Logistics to provide ship dates and order confirmations
  • Manufacturing Operations on daily manufacturing needs
  • Sales and Marketing on production priorities as required
  • Sales, R&D, and Marketing on sample inventory/fulfillment
  • Purchasing on raw material availability

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in a Business discipline preferred (Supply Chain preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Scheduling/Planning required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with JD Edwards (or similar ERP system)
  • Solid understanding of production scheduling, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain best practices
  • Well organized with attention to detail; ability to set priorities and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both internal and external, written and verbal
  • Meeting presentation skills, speaking and Power Point design
  • Ability to make decisions within company policies/programs
