Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is hiring a Machine Maintenance Technician in Charleston, SC.

Summary:

The Machine Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the bottle coating machine. This position is responsible for doing daily PM checks on the machine, replacing components as necessary, and keeping the machine functional during the shift. This position also requires the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and work with the machine manufacturer as necessary. The Technician may be required to be on call during weekends.
This position does require exercising independent judgment to perform the responsibilities described herein.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installing and switching out key components of the bottle coating machine
• Requires an understanding of the mechanics of the machines in order to diagnose issues and keep the machine functional
• Must have sufficient knowledge to perform basic maintenance and repairs on the machine
• Make adjustments to process as needed to improve quality issues or to improve cycle rates
• Experience with machine vacuum pumps is a plus as this is an integral part of the machine
• Ensure that waste and downtime is kept at a minimum
• Adhere to all company safety standards
• Perform related equipment maintenance duties on automated systems / robotics as required by supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, General Education Degree, or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree or certification from an accredited institution preferred
• 5+ years of previous related experience
• Requires some prior experience with injection molding machines
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction
• Self-directed, team player, goal focused
• Comprehensive understanding of Lean Manufacturing
• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other time essential constraints
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization
• Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
