Summary:

Seeking an experienced leader to oversee the daily operations and personnel of a wastewater treatment facility, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and efficient plant performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct operations staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain and analyze records of plant operations, preparing reports on efficiency, chemical usage, and equipment downtime.
  • Oversee customer billing, contract management, and verification of sludge transport and disposal documentation.
  • Monitor and implement compliance with state and federal environmental regulations and operational best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding plant operations, maintenance priorities, and regulatory matters.
  • Serve as a backup for compliance-related duties, including permit sampling, noncompliance notifications, and regulatory paperwork.
  • Authorize and verify purchase orders and manage inventory related to plant operations.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including attending meetings and supporting plant maintenance and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary 4-year degree or 15 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance, with supervisory experience.
  • Experience with computers, customer billing, and record keeping.
  • Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License required.
  • Class "A" Wastewater certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of activated sludge wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering, chemical application, and receiving station operations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations for wastewater treatment.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency with computer programs for data review and reporting.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations, operate vehicles, and work in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments under varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, climb, and manipulate equipment as required for plant inspection and operations.
