Job Title: Clinical Research Physician

Work Location: Maricopa County, Arizona

Summary:

Seeking an experienced and dependable physician to serve as a Locum Principal Investigator (PI) for a newly opened clinical research site. This role will provide immediate coverage while the search for a permanent PI continues. The ideal candidate will have a general medicine background and, preferably, prior experience conducting pain-related clinical trials. This is a great opportunity for a physician interested in clinical research leadership, flexible scheduling, and short-term or transitional assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as Principal Investigator for ongoing and upcoming clinical trials
• Ensure studies are conducted in compliance with ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and site SOPs
• Provide medical oversight for study participants, including safety assessments and protocol adherence
• Review and sign off on study documentation, regulatory documents, and source data as required
• Collaborate with clinical research coordinators, site staff, sponsors, and CROs
• Support site startup activities as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with an active Arizona medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Board eligible or board certified in a general medicine specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.)
• Prior experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical trials preferred
• Strong knowledge of GCP and clinical research regulations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to commit to an interim/locum engagement on-site in Phoenix
• Experience conducting pain management or pain-related clinical trials
• Previous experience supporting new or growing research sites
• Availability to start immediately or on short notice
