Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is hiring a Chemical Operator.
Work Location: Erie County, NY
Summary:
Operate chemical manufacturing processes according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
- Follow Quality, Health, Environmental & Safety (QHE&S) and ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
- Never compromise safety of any team members, customers, suppliers, or the environment.
- Follow all process SOPs to ensure quality product and data is produced.
- Learn and operate multiple chemical processes in a timely matter.
- Perform analytical tests on raw materials and final products.
- Record and monitor multiple parameters, such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings. Be able to make adjustments based on data.
- Communicate with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, accuracy, and product quality.
- Move raw materials and products with a forklift or hand dolly.
- Charge raw materials to process, monitor process waste, and pack out final products.
- Continually look to develop process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and productivity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; willingness to work rotating shift schedules.
- Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping activities in their area as directed by the production leader.
Qualifications:
- Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred – Some college course work, military experience, or some manufacturing experience
- Lifting requirement of approximately 50 pounds multiple times during a shift.
- Standing/walking for long periods of time.
- Climbing manufacturing platforms, ladders, and stairs.
- Ability and willingness to wear a full-face respirator.
