Job Title: Life Science Engineer I
Work Location: Suffolk County, Massachusetts
Summary:
A Life Science Engineer – Level 1 performs and documents planned maintenance and repair of research and clinical laboratory equipment (centrifuges, incubators, freezers, chromatography instruments, etc.) and associated systems with minimal supervision from service management to perform the required duties. The Specialist must demonstrate a working knowledge of, and ability to use the required test equipment, and have the electronic and mechanical knowledge and skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively utilize service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information, required to perform and document planned maintenance and repair of the specialty equipment and systems, as assigned, in accordance with established procedures. The Specialist must demonstrate good organizational skills as well as good communications, interpersonal and customer relations skills as applied to interactions with personnel and client staff in accordance with established operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Independently performs general troubleshooting and repairs to the component level. Also, independently perform installations, calibrations, qualifications, and planned maintenance with minimal technical direction
- ISO 17025 Experience and knowledge of accredited calibration certifications
- Perform pipette calibrations and repairs
- Proper use and maintenance of all standard test equipment
- Be able to read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
- Exercise good system troubleshooting skills
- Maintain parts stock and on demand orders for PM / Repairs
- Perform manufacturer-mandated equipment modifications and satisfactorily complete the required paperwork
- Be able to perform all system service diagnostics on applicable products
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Administer assigned work orders in CMMS system
- Understand and observe company policies and accounting procedures

- Process travel and other expenses accurately while following company policy
