Our client, a leading Healthcare Services company, is hiring a Surgical & Patient Care Scheduling Coordinator.

Work Location: Los Angeles County, California

Summary:

This role combines surgery scheduling and patient care coordination, supporting both administrative and clinical operations. The position requires travel between two locations within the county and involves front desk responsibilities, patient engagement, and coordination of surgical and radiology procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, ensuring all clinical and insurance documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Serve as a primary administrative assistant, rotating through front desk and office support duties as needed.
  • Communicate with patients to provide pre-op and post-op instructions, schedule appointments, and relay surgery dates.
  • Manage patient intake, including insurance verification, demographic data collection, and creation of new patient charts in EMR systems.
  • Facilitate radiology orders, obtain authorizations, and coordinate with imaging centers and patients for appointments.
  • Maintain daily records, publish accurate schedules, and ensure effective communication with clinical staff and external providers.
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and provide translation services as needed.
  • Support daily office operations, contribute to team efforts, and travel to satellite clinics as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in surgery scheduling and patient care coordination required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, especially in Oncology/Hematology, preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, practice management software, and standard office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel between clinic locations within the county as needed.
  • Previous Oncology/Hematology experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
