Summary:
Seeking an experienced engineering professional to oversee and optimize facility systems, infrastructure reliability, and regulatory compliance. The role involves leading projects, implementing technical solutions, and supporting operational excellence in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of critical building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and utilities.
- Lead facility engineering projects from initial concept through completion, managing scope, budget, schedule, and vendor coordination.
- Drive initiatives to improve infrastructure reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainability across facility operations.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to support safe and effective implementation of new systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges with minimal supervision, ensuring continuous facility operations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and contractors, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support facility and operational growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in regulated environments (such as FDA, cGMP, or Joint Commission) strongly preferred.
- Background in healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, power distribution, and clean utilities.
- Familiarity with building codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, and OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting, vendor management, and construction oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, CMMS, and building management systems (BMS) is highly desirable.
