Summary:
Seeking a Laboratory Operations Assistant to provide essential support in maintaining laboratory cleanliness, inventory, and compliance with regulatory standards. This is a contract-to-hire position with a standard weekday schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure proper disposal of biohazard waste following established procedures.
- Clean and organize laboratory glassware and equipment according to approved protocols.
- Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory media, reagents, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the shipment of samples to external testing facilities and support sample management activities.
- Support calibration, verification, and daily monitoring of laboratory instruments and storage units.
- Document activities in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and adhere to safety guidelines for PPE and biohazard handling.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient lab supply management and continuous improvement of lab processes.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with FDA, international regulatory standards, and quality system procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Experience maintaining laboratory areas and supporting lab operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in varying temperature and humidity conditions as required by storage environments.
