Summary:
Seeking a Transfer Technician to support biorepository operations, including sample management, material transfer, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves handling biological materials, maintaining accurate records, and participating in on-call rotations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures, administrative policies, and regulatory guidelines during daily operations.
- Safely handle and process potentially infectious materials, adhering to OSHA bloodborne pathogen protocols.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding client materials and information.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including afterhours, weekends, and holidays, as part of the operational team.
- Operate company vehicles, including box trucks and vans, for the secure transfer of biological materials.
- Accurately inventory, transfer, and store client materials using dry ice, liquid nitrogen, or other temperature control methods.
- Complete and submit all required documentation for assigned tasks to quality assurance for review.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in life science, healthcare, or a related discipline, or 2–3 years of equivalent education or experience in biological sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting performing relevant techniques preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally.
- Understanding of scientific and clinical repository operations, regulations, and terminology is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred.
- Skills in laboratory or clinical specimen management are advantageous.
- Comfortable with rotating on-call responsibilities, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive box trucks and vans as required.
