Job Title: Research Associate

Work Location: San Francisco County, California

Summary:

Seeking a contract Research Associate to support laboratory operations and research activities in a cell biology or molecular biology setting. The ideal candidate will have foundational laboratory skills and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a BSL-2 environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture tasks, including thawing, passaging, and maintenance of cell lines.
  • Conduct basic cell line quality control procedures to ensure integrity and reliability of experimental materials.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain aseptic technique at all times.
  • Document experimental procedures and results accurately in laboratory records and databases.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of laboratory reagents and supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research projects and meet project timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment in compliance with BSL-2 safety protocols.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and optimization of laboratory protocols as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience (industry experience preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated experience with mammalian cell culture, including routine maintenance and quality control.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain aseptic technique in a BSL-2 laboratory environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to laboratory safety and quality standards.
