Job Title: Admixture Tech

Work Location: Los Angeles County, California

Summary:

Seeking an Admixture Tech for a contract-to-perm opportunity. This role involves aseptic preparation of parenteral admixtures, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires on-site work and the ability to travel for initial training.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify physician orders to ensure accuracy and generate appropriate medication labels.
  • Utilize mathematical calculations and metric conversions to determine correct medication quantities for admixture preparation.
  • Prepare chemotherapies, immunotherapies, and other parenteral medications using aseptic techniques and ensure proper labeling and double-checking of all preparations.
  • Organize, maintain, and control inventory of medications and supplies, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and returning items as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage and dispensing of medications in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Document activities accurately in electronic medical records and communicate effectively with staff and healthcare teams.
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including USP 797 and USP 800, and follow established procedures.
  • Assist in training new staff and perform additional duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid California Certified Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience with hazardous and/or non-hazardous sterile compounding (1+ year preferred).
  • Knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards preferred.
  • Ability to travel to Los Angeles for 3-4 months of training is required.
