Compound Management Contractor
Work Location: Middlesex County, Massachusetts
Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented laboratory technician to support compound management operations in a dynamic scientific environment. This role involves inventory management, sample processing, and collaboration with scientific teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain accurate inventory records for compound collections, ensuring accessibility and organization.
- Register and process new sample submissions, assigning correct identification numbers and preparing for storage or further use.
- Handle incoming samples for storage, dissolution, and preparation of assay-ready plates as required.
- Fulfill distribution requests by weighing, aliquoting, and preparing samples for scientific staff.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver orders efficiently.
- Coordinate the shipment of samples in partnership with laboratory operations personnel.
- Conduct quality control checks on both incoming and outgoing samples, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage the peptide collection to support ongoing research activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience in a life sciences setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume sample processing.
- Experience with standard laboratory equipment, including analytical balances and pipettes.
- Comfortable with repetitive pipetting and sample handling tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan, Echo) preferred.
- Knowledge of multi-well plate formats and assay-ready plate preparation is advantageous.
- Strong documentation skills and commitment to data accuracy are highly valued.
