Materials Driver
Work Location: Bergen County, NJ
Summary:
Seeking a reliable and safety-focused Materials Driver to transport materials between multiple sites and vendors using company-provided vehicles. This role involves daily driving, material handling, and supporting warehouse operations, with a focus on accuracy, communication, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 28-foot box truck, van, or minivan to transport materials between designated locations and vendors.
- Perform daily sterilization runs and ensure timely, accurate delivery and pickup of materials and finished goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Load, unload, and secure materials to prevent damage during transit, following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and any discrepancies or damages encountered.
- Collaborate with warehouse, packaging, and production teams to coordinate schedules and support material preparation for sterilization.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members using phone, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook regarding delivery status and scheduling.
- Adhere to all safety, traffic, and operational procedures, maintaining a clean and organized vehicle and work area at all times.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar driving or delivery role.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving box trucks or delivery vehicles (non-CDL) preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
- Basic computer skills; experience with MS Outlook and Teams preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions independently.
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to safety.
- Warehouse or materials handling experience preferred but not required.
