Job Title: Business Development Director

Summary:
The Business Development Director will drive commercial growth by establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships within the preclinical and drug discovery sector. This role is responsible for expanding market presence, managing the contract lifecycle, and representing the organization at key industry events. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in CRO/preclinical services sales to generate new business opportunities and maintain high-value client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the U.S. preclinical and drug discovery market to achieve ambitious growth targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring tailored service and long-term client loyalty.
- Lead the end-to-end contract process, including drafting proposals, estimating costs, and negotiating agreements.
- Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform and refine competitive strategies.
- Represent the organization at major industry events, enhancing brand visibility and identifying partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to review and ensure the accuracy and professionalism of client-facing reports.
- Utilize advanced communication and negotiation skills to manage complex technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
- Travel as needed to engage with partners and participate in industry conferences and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Experience in CRO/preclinical services sales required; scientific background is a plus but not mandatory.
- Approximately 2–4 years or more of successful business development experience in the CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical sector.
- Strong network of professional contacts within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively for business development and industry events.
