Job Title: Business Development Manager

Summary:
The Business Development Manager will drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and aligning scientific services with client R&D objectives in the preclinical and drug discovery sector. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to represent the organization at key industry events.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new business leads to achieve and surpass revenue targets in the preclinical services sector.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster long-term partnerships and repeat business.
- Lead the preparation of technical proposals, cost estimates, and manage agreements such as CDAs, NDAs, and MSAs.
- Monitor and analyze trends within the biotech and pharmaceutical landscape to inform local market strategies.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, summits, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and expand the professional network.
- Serve as a liaison between laboratory teams and clients, ensuring clear communication and impactful project reporting.
- Manage the early-stage sales funnel, from lead generation through to proposal and agreement execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure scientific capabilities are aligned with client R&D needs and market demands.
Qualifications:
- Academic or professional understanding of the preclinical drug discovery process.
- 1–2 years of experience in business development or account management within life sciences or CRO environments.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry landscape.
- Ability to build and expand a professional network within the R&D community.
- Strong independent work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive setting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to varied audiences.
- Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
- Scientific background is a plus but not required.
