Summary:
The Site Manager is responsible for the daily operational oversight and overall performance of a clinical research site, ensuring efficient conduct of clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and high-quality protocol execution. This role includes full accountability for site staff, resource coordination, and fostering a high-performing, patient-centric research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of clinical study execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, protocol compliance, and operational excellence.
- Monitor site-level financials, including revenue, expenses, and budgets, to achieve financial targets and maintain profitability.
- Develop and implement operational plans for each study, including staffing, equipment, and resource allocation.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation and timely reporting in line with GCP and ICH guidelines.
- Supervise data integrity through regular documentation review, source verification, and compliance checks.
- Drive participant recruitment and enrollment by implementing effective strategies and monitoring performance metrics.
- Serve as the main contact for sponsors, CROs, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and resolution of operational issues.
- Lead, train, and evaluate site staff, maintaining a collaborative and compliant work environment while ensuring operational coverage during absences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare field.
- Minimum of 5 years in clinical research management or other applicable management experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced management skills with the ability to lead a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience working with multiple IRBs, sponsors/CROs, and vendors.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, RealTime CTMS, GCP, and other industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems.
- Ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, and with external partners.
- On-site presence required Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- Ability to ensure operational coverage and coordinate with team members during absences.
