Job Title: Project Engineer

Work Location: Harris County, Texas

Summary:

Seeking a Project Engineer with experience in field-based project work, process design, and industrial environments. This role involves supporting technical decision-making, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position is on-site and requires strong communication, technical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in technical decision-making and resolve design and engineering issues for ongoing projects.
  • Develop, review, and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and support equipment layout and piping routing from concept to detailed design.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including bids, proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and material lists.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely resource availability and project progress.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing day-to-day technical support and coordination across engineering disciplines.
  • Maintain organized project files and accurate technical documentation, supporting the development and maintenance of piping specifications and engineering standards.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs), support bid evaluations, and ensure compliance with safety priorities and industry protocols.
  • Engage in continuous professional growth and contribute to a culture of safety, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Construction, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
  • 2–4 years of experience in field-based project work, including process design and layout, preferably in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing settings.
  • Working knowledge of basic piping, civil, and structural systems.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and effective in complex project environments.
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment and build effective working relationships.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
