Summary:
The Chief Scientific Officer will provide strategic leadership and scientific direction for oncology drug development initiatives, with a focus on novel approaches and advanced methodologies. This role requires expertise in regulatory processes and hands-on experience in innovative cancer research, including the use of patient-derived organoids.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee scientific research and development activities in oncology, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for novel oncology drug development, with a focus on next-generation approaches and methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from discovery through clinical development stages.
- Provide scientific guidance on the use of patient-derived organoids and other advanced models in drug development.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, including the FDA, to ensure compliance and facilitate successful submissions.
- Mentor and manage scientific staff, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in research.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging scientific trends and technologies relevant to oncology therapeutics.
- Represent the scientific vision and progress to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in oncology drug development, including direct interaction with the FDA.
- Proven expertise in novel agent modalities (NAMs) and patient-derived organoids (PDOs) is highly preferred.
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership in scientific research and team management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and clinical development processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Track record of successful project delivery in oncology or related therapeutic areas.
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and drive innovation in a dynamic environment.
