Job Title: Senior Scientific Data Engineer

Summary:

Seeking an experienced Senior Scientific Data Engineer to lead the development of robust data engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready data products. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, leadership, and a strong commitment to customer success.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and solution teams to gather requirements and design consensus-driven data solutions.
• Lead the creation of data models, prototypes, and integration solutions to support customer objectives.
• Utilize AI tools to develop data schemas and parsers for diverse pre-clinical data sources and formats.
• Develop reusable schema components and parsing functions, productizing them into Python libraries.
• Construct high-quality data pipelines with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage.
• Build data applications, reports, and dashboards using modern tools such as React, Streamlit, and Jupyter Notebook.
• Drive process and technology improvements, ensuring quality and efficiency across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers, lead Agile sprint commitments, and resolve project blockers to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar technical field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python and SQL focused on data engineering.
• Proficiency with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as React and/or Streamlit.
• Background working with pre-clinical data and collaborating with laboratory scientists is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects, managing requirements, and overseeing timelines.
• Proven ability to manage multiple customer-focused implementation projects across cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence in project delivery management.
• Ability to quickly understand complex technical products and communicate effectively with product and engineering teams.
