Job Title: Technical Customer Support Specialist

Work Location: Providence County, Rhode Island

Summary:

The Technical Customer Support Specialist acts as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring technical inquiries and product support needs are addressed efficiently. This role involves supporting technical documentation, troubleshooting product issues, and maintaining accurate records, with a focus on the medical device manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main technical contact for customer questions regarding product specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide customers with technical documentation, drawings, certifications, and compliance details as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve product performance questions and custom component requests.
  • Troubleshoot product or order issues and coordinate corrective actions with quality and operations teams.
  • Interpret and review technical drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation to support customer needs.
  • Assist with requests for quotes, change orders, and product modifications to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in CRM and ERP systems.
  • Drive timely communication and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and process efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in technical customer support, applications engineering, inside technical sales, or a manufacturing environment (medical device manufacturing preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining or precision components.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and medical device quality systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective cross-functional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Direct experience in medical device manufacturing, understanding of FDA regulations, experience supporting OEM customers, or background in precision components/metals/complex assemblies is a plus.
