Summary:
Seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator with strong phlebotomy skills to support clinical research activities, patient care, and administrative tasks. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of clinical trials and providing high-quality support to both patients and research staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform precise venipuncture and capillary blood collection, ensuring patient safety and comfort while maintaining sterile techniques.
- Prepare patients for procedures, collect medical histories, and assist healthcare professionals during examinations and minor treatments.
- Support the execution of clinical trials by following protocols, documenting procedures, maintaining regulatory compliance, and updating clinical trial management systems.
- Label, process, and transport blood and other samples accurately, ensuring timely delivery to laboratories and proper documentation.
- Manage scheduling, maintain patient records, update electronic health records, and assist with billing and insurance processes.
- Educate patients on at-home care, medication administration, and follow-up appointments, addressing questions with empathy and professionalism.
- Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe healthcare environment and minimize cross-contamination risks.
- Assist in recruiting and managing outreach to potential research subjects for clinical studies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Good Clinical Practice certification.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
- Experience as a clinical research coordinator with demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy techniques.
- Clinical trial experience required.
- IATA/DOT Dangerous Goods training preferred but not required.
- Clear understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software.
