Job Title: Estimating Manager
Work Location: Brazos County, Texas
Summary:
The Estimating Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all estimating activities, ensuring the development of accurate cost estimates for materials and labor based on detailed layouts of architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role also involves mentoring team members, maintaining estimating tools and systems, and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation, review, and approval of cost estimates using design drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Oversee estimating processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and construction teams to support unique project specifications and requirements.
- Document and explain estimates, including labor assumptions, resource allocations, and supporting details.
- Provide cost analysis for onsite work requests, change orders, and project scope additions.
- Mentor and manage junior estimators, providing training, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance estimating tools, databases, and systems, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase estimating accuracy, efficiency, and standardization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training in Engineering, Construction Science, Technology, or Math.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience using design software.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drafting, and construction processes.
- Experience with cost analysis, change orders, and project management support.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff members.
- Proficiency in maintaining and developing estimating tools, databases, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and process improvement skills.
