Summary:

Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide clinical support to patients/subjects in a research unit. The role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring delivery of care according to clinical research protocols, and proactive issue escalation. The LPN will work under the supervision of a nursing manager and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all clinical research activities comply with federal regulatory guidelines and study protocols.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of assigned protocols to accurately complete all study-related tasks.
• Monitor participant health status, including vital signs, sample collection, medication administration, and comfort measures.
• Communicate with other healthcare disciplines and coordinate patient transfers as needed.
• Administer investigational and concomitant medications as directed by the principal investigator.
• Document and report adverse events to investigators and study coordinators promptly.
• Report any observed changes in patient condition or behavior immediately.
• Dispense study drugs as delegated and maintain a safe environment using de-escalation techniques when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida LPN License
• CPR certification
• Extensive experience with blood draws and EKGs
• Previous experience with psychiatric and substance abuse patients preferred
• Clear background screening
• Ability to read and communicate in English
• Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts
