Process Maintenance Technician
Job Title: Process Maintenance Technician
Work Location: Wake County, NC
Summary:
The Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment and support systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting manufacturing teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
- Support production operations during equipment setup, changeovers, and startups, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to site emergencies to maintain operational continuity.
- Assist with the design, installation, and certification of equipment modifications and upgrades in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Identify and manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in accordance with compliance standards.
- Contribute to equipment reliability and process improvement initiatives, including commissioning, qualification, and validation of new or modified systems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated industry such as pharmaceutical or biotechnology.
- Associate's degree or Technical School certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; basic understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Experience with CMMS systems (such as Maximo, SAP, or similar) and maintenance documentation under GMP guidelines.
- Familiarity with aseptic or cleanroom environments is a plus.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders, and working in mechanical/equipment rooms required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs, kneel and stoop for extended periods, and work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
