Lateral Flow Production Analyst
Work Location: Essex County, Massachusetts
Summary:
The Lateral Flow Production Analyst is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of diagnostic tests for screening applications in the dairy and grain industries. This entry-level role involves hands-on laboratory work, documentation, and collaboration with production management to ensure quality and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and adjust reagents, and assemble components for diagnostic test production and quality testing.
- Handle and qualify samples, including diluting antibiotics in raw milk and preparing grain samples using approved protocols.
- Document all relevant production data, including lot numbers and production dates, ensuring accuracy and completeness for management review.
- Bag, label, seal, and store finished products under appropriate conditions to maintain quality standards.
- Update standard operating procedures as assigned to keep documentation current and accurate.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing updates on task progress and ensuring clarity in written records.
- Maintain safety stocks of diagnostic tests and contribute to timely order fulfillment.
- Identify and investigate deviations from required specifications, ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS or equivalent in Biochemistry, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, diligence, and dependability.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Lateral flow diagnostic test manufacturing experience preferred.
- GMP/GLP experience preferred.
- Understanding of basic statistics preferred.
- Dexterity to operate pipettes accurately and frequently.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (60-90 minutes on average).
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 5 pounds.
- Visual inspection skills for identifying defects on moving components.
- Ability to safely handle antibiotics in various forms in a laboratory setting.
- Comfort working in fluctuating environmental conditions (temperatures from 4°C to 28°C).
