Director of Product Management
Work Location: Northwest suburbs of Chicago preferred but open to remote with travel to Chicago area
Summary:
The Director of Product Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and continuous improvement of a monitoring device portfolio, associated software applications, and supporting workflows. This role manages the full product lifecycle, ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet customer and market needs. The position also involves budget management, KPI monitoring, and the development of strategic roadmaps for technology expansion and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning, execution, and improvement of workflows for data capture, analysis, and reporting across the product portfolio.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and technical liaison for devices, applications, and data flows, supporting internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product offerings align with customer needs and market demand, including supporting business development and training initiatives.
- Oversee the development, validation, and documentation of software and systems in partnership with IT and Quality & Compliance teams.
- Manage the operational budget, establish and monitor KPIs, and develop strategic roadmaps for technology portfolio growth.
- Build and maintain a central repository of device and system information, ensuring appropriate access and up-to-date documentation.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Product Team, fostering a collaborative and achievement-oriented culture.
- Conduct research on new devices and applications, evaluate business processes, and implement solutions to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or five years’ equivalent experience in a device/software technology role in healthcare.
- CCT or CET certification or equivalent.
- At least three years’ product management experience in a clinical core lab or healthcare research environment.
- Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare leadership, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Five years’ experience in cardiac safety monitoring or related field, including ECG data trend analysis.
- Demonstrated career progression in healthcare, cardiac safety, or clinical study management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, business operations, and strategic planning abilities.
- Proven ability to recruit, build, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Experience training on ECG devices, applications, and data flow topics.
- Proficiency in creating and updating process/data flow charts and diagrams.
- Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences and present to diverse groups.
- Experience building internal and external business relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, deadline management, and achievement of project goals.
- High energy, self-motivation, and a passion for success.
- Adaptability to various communication and management styles.
- Experience delegating tasks to achieve objectives efficiently.
- Job is mainly sedentary; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.; fine motor skills required.
- This position requires 25% travel.
