Job Title: Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer

Summary:
Seeking a Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer to provide subject matter expertise in the design and development of advanced MOCVD tooling. This role will lead engineering programs, drive technical direction, and deliver robust, scalable equipment solutions for manufacturing platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of complex mechanical systems for MOCVD and related deposition platforms.
- Develop scalable, high-performance solutions by anticipating future design challenges in vacuum, thermal, and precision mechanical systems.
- Translate process and materials requirements into manufacturable tool designs, ensuring alignment with process needs.
- Establish and advance best practices in design for manufacturability, assembly, and reliability (DFx).
- Shape development processes, design standards, and engineering best practices for tool building and platform evolution.
- Lead multi-team engineering initiatives from concept through build, integration, and production, managing project scope and deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment between tool capability and process requirements.
- Mentor engineers, elevate technical rigor, and foster a culture of engineering excellence across teams and functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 10 years of engineering experience (an advanced degree may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis, depending on relevance and level).
- Experience designing or building MOCVD, PVD, or similar semiconductor or thin-film deposition equipment.
- Expertise in vacuum systems, thermal systems, and precision mechanical design.
- Leadership experience in cross-functional technical initiatives preferred.
- Strong systems-level thinking with business and operational awareness.
- Ability to influence technical and strategic decisions through expertise and judgment.
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while delivering actionable solutions.
- Demonstrated balance of innovation and practical execution in a manufacturing environment.
