Summary:
The Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment and support systems in a GMP-regulated environment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, supports manufacturing operations, and upholds compliance and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and GMP standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Support production teams during equipment setup, changeovers, and startups, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to site emergencies to ensure continuous operations.
- Assist with the design, installation, and certification of equipment modifications and upgrades in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Identify and manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment to support uninterrupted manufacturing processes.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in accordance with GMP and ALCOA principles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, equipment commissioning, and provide technical training to peers and operators.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Technical School certification preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated industry such as pharmaceutical or biotechnology.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; basic understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Experience with CMMS systems (such as Maximo, SAP, or similar) and maintenance documentation under GMP guidelines.
- Familiarity with aseptic or cleanroom environments is a plus.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, climb ladders, work in equipment rooms, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of kneeling, stooping, and working at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills; attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
