Summary:
Seeking a Senior Business Development Specialist with a focus on CNS (neurology, psychiatry, neurodegeneration, and neuropsychiatric indications). This is a senior individual contributor role for a proactive business developer with established relationships in the CNS clinical research space. The position offers autonomy, ownership of the pipeline, and significant earning potential based on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies targeting CNS sponsors and CROs across multiple indications, including neurology and psychiatry.
- Identify and secure new sponsor accounts and drive site selection opportunities for CNS clinical studies.
- Build and strengthen relationships with CNS-focused CRO site engagement and patient recruitment teams.
- Lead efforts to win site selection through tailored responses and direct engagement with sponsors and CROs.
- Represent the organization at key industry conferences to expand networks and identify new business opportunities.
- Monitor and report on pipeline progression from initial contact through contract execution and study activation.
- Collaborate with internal leadership and operations to accurately position site capabilities and enrollment performance.
- Stay informed on CNS sponsor pipelines, CRO outsourcing trends, and emerging therapeutic priorities to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of business development experience in clinical research, with at least 3 years focused on CNS sponsors or CROs.
- Proven ability to open new sponsor or CRO accounts and secure site selection wins.
- Active relationships with multiple CNS sponsors and at least 2-3 CNS-focused CROs.
- Comprehensive understanding of site selection processes within sponsors and CROs, including feasibility and qualification visits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft competitive site selection responses.
- Comfortable working independently with high autonomy and accountability for pipeline and revenue outcomes.
- Experience selling for a clinical research site, site network, SMO, or IRO with a CNS focus strongly preferred.
- Experience with late-phase CNS programs and familiarity with cooperative group, foundation-funded, and industry-sponsored CNS trial dynamics preferred.
- CRO-side business development experience in CNS divisions is a plus.
- Established relationships with sponsor outsourcing or clinical operations leaders at top CNS pharma helpful but not required.
- Background in life sciences, neuroscience, or behavioral health is advantageous.
- Existing book of CNS sponsor or CRO contacts is a plus (subject to non-compete review).
