Summary:

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing laboratory supplies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing to support sequencing, bioinformatics, and research workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure laboratory materials, consumables, and equipment to support genomics and multi-omics services.
  • Oversee purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory levels for research and project needs.
  • Build and sustain vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Work closely with laboratory, operations, and scientific teams to forecast supply needs and align with project timelines.
  • Track procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Maintain detailed procurement records and ensure adherence to organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics for sample kits, laboratory materials, and international shipments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization within procurement operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, life sciences, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, ideally in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with laboratory consumables, scientific equipment, or regulated purchasing environments is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory management, and procurement tools is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Background supporting research or clinical laboratory operations is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices in life sciences or biotech, with a continuous improvement and analytical mindset.
