Job Title: Maintenance Planner/Scheduler
Work Location: Gloucester County, New Jersey
Summary:
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all planned maintenance activities, including preventive, regular, and shutdown-related work, to minimize production interruptions. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively direct and support a diverse team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule preventive and routine maintenance activities to align with production needs and minimize downtime.
- Develop and manage weekly maintenance schedules using SAP and support the creation of shutdown schedules.
- Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Utilize CMMS and reporting tools to analyze maintenance data and optimize maintenance processes.
- Investigate and resolve maintenance-related issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance team members, ensuring consistent application of CMMS procedures.
- Establish and maintain relationships with multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and backup options.
- Manage all aspects of the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and support production and engineering activities for optimal results.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; advanced degree or certifications in technical or maintenance-related disciplines preferred.
- At least five (5) years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or related industry.
- Minimum three (3) years of maintenance and supervisory experience.
- At least three (3) years of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating materials) inventory management experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler.
- Working knowledge of chemical plant equipment such as pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, and instrumentation.
- Background in maintenance and repair of equipment to effectively plan daily maintenance activities.
- Experience working and managing in a PSM site; PHA and MOC experience strongly preferred.
- Strong project management, analytical, technical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and respond to visual and audible alarms.
- Ability to work around hazardous chemicals, dust, and in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work day, afternoon, and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Availability for periodic on-call duties during plant shutdowns, start-ups, commissioning, and decommissioning activities.
- Ability to work rotating shifts if required and regularly work around and atop industrial equipment, including frequent movement, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Ability to work at high elevations and frequently move objects weighing up to 10 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
