Job Title: Cost Analyst II
Work Location: Wake County, North Carolina
Summary:
Cost Analyst II is responsible for manufacturing accounting using SAP software, including analysis of process order closures and variances. This position will play a significant role in the month-end financial close process and will also assist with forecasting, budgeting, audits, reconciliations and an array of ad hoc financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes process order closures on a regular basis and prepares month-end material and labor statements.
- Tracks manufacturing overhead absorption & unit production daily and provides actual vs. budget/forecast analysis for Senior Site Leadership Team.
- Tracks manufacturing variances and reports on a biweekly basis performance at a process order and product level.
- Reviews manufacturing variances with production weekly to ensure all raw materials are issued appropriately to the process orders.
- Performs fixed asset inventory and reconciliation.
- Analyzes overhead spending at the end of the month and creates proper accruals.
- Performs journal entries for month-end close & reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Assists AP vendor issues and works as liaison between site purchasing and FSS AP.
- Supports performance excellence projects through metrics reporting of material and labor.
- Supports temp labor accrual and reconciliation process.
- Assists with inventory analysis and reconciliations.
- Assists with key site projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- 2 – 4 years of related experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Strong Computer Skills - proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word required
- Experience in SAP ERP system preferred
- MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
- Financial experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs. without assistance
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, self-starter, independent thinker required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Occasionally work in areas where personal protective equipment will be required
- Work in areas wherein sitting is required for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking
- Daily and frequently work in front of a computer screen or under bright lighting conditions
