Lab Technician

Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join a characterization team on a contract-to-hire basis. This hands-on role involves supporting scientific staff by preparing samples, operating analytical instruments, and maintaining accurate records. The position is ideal for individuals who value precision, safety, and ongoing learning in a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and test chemical solutions as directed by scientific staff.
- Operate a variety of analytical instruments following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of experimental data in laboratory notebooks.
- Support and promote a strong safety culture, adhering to PPE and laboratory safety protocols.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Contribute to the development and revision of standard operating procedures under scientific guidance.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance laboratory skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to laboratory safety and working knowledge of PPE requirements and safety protocols.
- Experience preparing and testing solutions in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in operating analytical instruments such as Auto-Titrator, TIC/TOC/TN Analyzer, Surface Area Analysis (BET), TGA/DSC, FTIR Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography (GC), and Process Gas Analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to keep accurate laboratory records.
- Experience authoring or contributing to standard operating procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred; 3-5 years of equivalent laboratory experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Willingness to work on-site Monday through Friday.
