Material Planner

Work Location: Morris County, New Jersey

Summary:

The Material Planner is responsible for production planning of finished goods and procurement of raw materials to support business operations. The role focuses on achieving customer service targets, managing inventory, and balancing supply and demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate production planning and procurement activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Utilize planning systems and tools to create, maintain, and monitor work orders and dispensing jobs for various product lines.
  • Analyze and determine optimal inventory levels, restocking points, and manage excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Maintain and review master data related to planning, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information for all relevant processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in cross-functional meetings to address planning issues and support business objectives.
  • Support laboratory projects and sample library requirements, ensuring alignment with production and planning needs.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency and foster innovation within the team.
  • Prepare and present reports, communicate planning issues, and ensure effective information flow among all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally with a background in manufacturing or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in production planning or material planning roles.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments, with knowledge of planning systems such as ORACLE and MRP tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset, quick thinker, and ability to deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse and production areas, including elevated temperatures and noise levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster innovation, value differences, and contribute positively to team dynamics.
