Job Title: Clinical Programmer

Work Location: Remote

Summary:

This role focuses on developing, validating, and maintaining SAS programs for clinical data review, cleaning, reconciliation, and reporting. The Clinical Programmer will collaborate with study teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and efficient programming solutions for clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and validate SAS programs to generate data review, cleaning, and reconciliation listings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Create and maintain listings, tables, profiles, figures, and standard datasets, including supporting validation and quality check documentation.
  • Execute, debug, and enhance existing SAS programs and macros, identifying and implementing process improvements as needed.
  • Perform user administration in EDC systems, following established templates and best practices for data management.
  • Develop and apply SAS macros and SQL scripts to improve programming efficiency and automate routine tasks.
  • Conduct data mappings between various data sources and standard outputs, utilizing annotated CRFs and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with data managers and study teams to resolve data issues, facilitate specification development, and support statistical programming activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of programming activities, perform quality control checks, and ensure deliverables meet regulatory and internal standards.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in SAS programming within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific, biological, statistical, computer science, or related discipline.
  • M.S. in Statistics, Mathematics, Epidemiology, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAS programming (SAS certification preferred) and familiarity with SQL.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain high integrity and accountability.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices such as CDISC, CDASH, SDTM, and data standardization.
  • Experience with academic or industry projects showcasing programming techniques and platforms is a plus.
