Job Title: Perfusion Specialist

Summary:
Seeking a skilled and motivated Perfusion Specialist with a clinical or clinical-adjacent background to support advanced organ perfusion studies using donated human research organs. This role involves preparing organs, assisting with surgical procedures, and operating specialized perfusion and diagnostic equipment in a research-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ex vivo perfusions of human organs, including lungs, livers, and kidneys, following established protocols.
- Assist with surgical benching and anatomical dissection to enhance understanding of human organ systems.
- Operate and maintain clinical-grade perfusion circuits and monitoring equipment for research studies.
- Collect, process, and accurately log biological samples such as blood, biopsies, urine, and bile.
- Participate in translational research by evaluating new therapeutics in human organ models.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, manage supply inventory, and ensure proper functioning of all devices.
- Document procedures and research results with precision in both paper and digital formats.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule and shared laboratory duties.
Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in roles such as RN, OR Tech, Surgical PA, Medical Assistant, paramedic, laboratory technologist, or similar healthcare positions.
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols, point-of-care testing, and handling biohazardous materials.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and laboratory safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Comfortable using technology, including MS Office and database entry systems.
- Undergraduate degree in biology, nursing, biomedical science, or a related field.
- Excellent physical stamina and keen attention to detail.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn surgical and perfusion techniques, and a commitment to advancing medical innovation.
