Lab Relocation Specialist
Work Location: Suffolk County, Massachusetts
Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting laboratory relocation projects, collaborating with operations, engineering, and customer stakeholders, and ensuring seamless transitions for laboratory equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for laboratory moves in alignment with project goals and deliverables.
- Coordinate with project teams to synchronize move schedules with construction completion timelines.
- Establish and follow a roadmap to ensure site readiness for all equipment within project scope.
- Oversee and maintain the master inventory list for equipment and supplies.
- Manage decontamination, decommissioning, packing, and recommissioning of existing lab equipment and systems, as well as installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Ensure all activities comply with established quality standards and financial guidelines.
- Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders and provide updates on project progress.
- Support team building, provide feedback, and act as a supervisor when needed to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree or equivalent required.
- Project management experience (PMP preferred).
- Experience with relocation project management preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Project and Excel (including v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
- Exposure to laboratory equipment and understanding of vendor management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, self-motivate, and develop comprehensive project plans.
- Demonstrated accountability, financial acumen, and integrity.
- Customer service orientation and ability to prioritize workload.
- Experience mentoring team members and providing constructive feedback.
- Ability to act as a supervisor and build strong team relationships.
