Job Title: Process Mechanic

Work Location: Ocean County, New Jersey

Summary:

Seeking a skilled Process Mechanic to support mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting activities for packaging and process machinery in compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This role may also involve light facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct equipment changeovers, set-ups, and start-ups, including vision system training and accurate data collection.
  • Identify and requisition necessary parts for repairs using equipment manuals and coordinate with supervisors for ordering.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on packaging and production machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain and repair electronics on production equipment to minimize downtime, utilizing computer and logic controllers for system analysis.
  • Diagnose and repair PLCs, VFDs, servos, motors, sensors, temperature control loops, and related automation components.
  • Fabricate and install basic control systems to enhance production line performance and troubleshoot vision systems and automated weight checkers.
  • Document changeovers and maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and lead process improvement projects, demonstrate flexibility with shifts and overtime, and maintain clean room gowning status.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
  • Experience in an aseptic or pharmaceutical packaging environment preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, cGMP, and regulatory guidance for computer/automation-based systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Capability to gown and maintain status for clean room environments.
