Job Title: Vice President of Operations

Work Location: Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois

Summary:

Seeking an executive leader to unify and elevate operational functions including product management, project management, data management, and inventory. This role will drive alignment, accountability, and operational excellence in a fast-growing environment, implementing scalable processes to support current and future growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily operations across multiple teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and workflow integration.
  • Develop and enforce key performance indicators, metrics, and standards to drive operational efficiency.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational decisions and issue resolution.
  • Translate organizational growth objectives into actionable operational strategies and plans.
  • Lead capacity planning, resource allocation, and headcount forecasting to support business needs.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks that could impact delivery, compliance, or timelines.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, standardize workflows, and enhance communication across departments.
  • Mentor and develop department leaders, build a high-performance culture, and partner on talent strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
  • Proven track record managing multiple functional teams.
  • Background in clinical research, CRO, core lab, medical device, or regulated life sciences environment.
  • Demonstrated success building structure and integrating teams in a growing organization.
  • Strong experience implementing KPIs, process improvements, and performance systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in ECG core labs, cardiac diagnostics, or clinical trial environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with project and data management workflows in regulated settings preferred.
  • Experience managing inventory in device or lab environments preferred.
  • Experience in high-growth companies building structure from the ground up preferred.
