Job Title: Senior Research Associate

Summary:
Seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Research Associate with expertise in biochemistry and tissue culture. This laboratory-based role focuses on protein expression, production of protein reagents, and execution of biochemical and biophysical assays for ligand discovery and mechanism of action studies. The position requires careful experimental work and may involve supporting additional laboratory activities as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct protein expression using various vectors and host systems for reagent production.
- Perform mammalian cell culture and maintain cell lines for experimental use.
- Purify membrane proteins utilizing FPLC/HPLC instrumentation and related techniques.
- Design, execute, and analyze biochemical, biophysical, and cell-based assays.
- Support ligand discovery and mechanism of action studies through experimental assays.
- Maintain accurate records, ensure data integrity, and organize laboratory workflows.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to laboratory operations.
- Assist with additional laboratory experiments and activities as time permits.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in drug discovery, preferably in an industry setting.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture.
- Proficiency in protein expression using a variety of vectors and hosts.
- Experience in membrane protein biochemistry and protein purification using FPLC/HPLC.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and analyze biochemical, biophysical, or cell-based assays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and computer literacy.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques is desired.
- Familiarity with small-molecule binding assays such as DSF, SPR, ITC, fluorescence polarization, or radioligand binding is a plus.
- Insect cell culture experience is desirable.
