Lab Technician/RA

Work Location: Boulder County, Colorado

Summary:

Seeking a Laboratory Technician/Research Associate to support the advancement of bio-based processes. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, supporting process validation and development at the bench scale, and contributing to both general and specialized laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare reagents, media, buffers, and stock solutions for laboratory experiments.
• Clean, calibrate, and organize laboratory glassware and equipment to ensure readiness for experiments.
• Assist with laboratory management tasks, including inventory tracking and ordering supplies.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, to support laboratory needs.
• Support the setup and breakdown of bench-scale bioreactors under supervision.
• Perform aseptic sampling from bioreactors and shake flasks, and assist with downstream sample processing.
• Accurately record experimental data in electronic lab systems and promptly report any deviations or anomalies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience required.
• Self-starter with strong motivation, scientific curiosity, and collaborative mindset.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear information exchange across teams.
• Proficiency with basic laboratory techniques, including reagent preparation and aseptic technique.
• Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures and work independently after training.
• Experience with benchtop bioreactors, shake flasks, or other microbial culture platforms (preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple workflows and tasks within a single day.
