Summary:
Seeking an Assay Scientist to support laboratory operations with a focus on tissue imaging and spatial biology. This contract role is bench-intensive and emphasizes reliable assay execution, data quality, and operational consistency. The position offers on-the-job training in advanced tissue-based techniques and may lead to full-time employment based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tissue preparation, staining, and imaging workflows using established protocols for multiplex immunohistochemistry and related assays.
- Prepare buffers, reagents, and assay components, ensuring consistency across batches and supporting high-throughput operations.
- Handle biological samples, antibodies, enzymes, and chemical reagents with precision and care to maintain data integrity.
- Produce labeled antibody probes and related reagents, performing quality control checks and documenting results accurately.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records, ensuring traceability of materials, methods, and results for all experiments.
- Support process consistency and reliability across production runs, contributing to reproducible outcomes at scale.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment, including inventory management and shipment of reagents and study outputs.
- Collaborate with team members to meet defined timelines, uphold operational discipline, and deliver high-quality, client-facing data.
Qualifications:
- BS or BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- 1+ year of hands-on laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
- Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures and execute protocols with precision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to reproducibility and data quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoassays, or tissue-based workflows is preferred.
- Familiarity with protein handling, labeling, or conjugation, and experience with enzymes and biological reagents is advantageous.
- Exposure to imaging or mass spectrometry workflows is a plus.
