Job Title: Product Manager - Medical Devices
Work Location: Baldwin County, New York
Summary:
Seeking an experienced Product Manager with expertise in medical devices (spine) to oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept through innovation and delivery. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to drive product strategy, market research, and continuous improvement initiatives for Class I, II, and III medical devices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute product strategies for a comprehensive medical device portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead market research, analyze industry trends, and conduct competitive analysis to inform product development and commercialization efforts.
- Collaborate with clinical specialists, surgeons, and procurement teams to gather feedback and identify opportunities for new products and enhancements.
- Drive the creation and implementation of business and marketing plans to optimize product performance and market presence.
- Partner with R&D and manufacturing teams to define product specifications, prioritize features, and ensure timely, compliant development.
- Oversee go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing, catalog development, and promotional planning.
- Monitor product performance, manage key metrics and KPIs, and lead post-launch reviews to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements to support ongoing product innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in mid to senior-level marketing and/or product management within the medical device (spine) industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing Class I, II, and III medical devices; orthopedic industry experience is a plus.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
- Track record of successfully launching business processes and initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and customer feedback.
- Excellent presentation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for clinical evaluations, conferences, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Experience with endoscopic instrument design, optics, and surgical tool integration is beneficial.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and clinical practices in the medical device industry is advantageous.
- Lean Certification (Black Belt or Green Belt) is a plus.
