Research Associate

Summary:
Seeking a Research Associate with expertise in microbiology assays to support the development of a cell-based diagnostics platform. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to advance emerging technologies and improve clinical standards of care.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on diverse projects, maintaining proficiency in microorganism culture, diagnostics, and biofluid processing.
- Process both contrived and human samples to support performance characterization of diagnostic devices.
- Interpret, analyze, and accurately record experimental data using electronic lab notebooks.
- Contribute to general laboratory maintenance, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring lab safety.
- Prepare documentation and presentations to report on project status, technology advancements, and intellectual property developments.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate assay workflows into diagnostic platforms.
- Assist in the development and optimization of microbiology-related diagnostic technologies.
- Support the implementation of new laboratory techniques and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (2+ years of industry experience) or Master’s degree (0+ years of industry experience) in microbiology, cell biology, biology, bioengineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with microorganism culture, blood culture (including downstream assays), and human biofluid handling.
- Experience in developing diagnostic platforms and technologies, especially in microbiology, is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient in data analysis using tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, or Minitab.
- Experience with microfluidics or optical imaging systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving project needs.
