Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for collecting and documenting patient screening data, supporting patient care throughout treatment, and assisting healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and accurately document patient vitals and medical history in the electronic medical record system.
- Perform phlebotomy, basic laboratory tests, and prepare specimens for laboratory transport.
- Report changes in patient physical status to supervising practitioners and review physician orders with patients.
- Administer injections and assist with minor medical procedures as directed.
- Train new staff on clinical processes and procedures.
- Maintain examination room supplies and cleanliness, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional customer service in all interactions.
- Travel to multiple locations within the county as needed to provide coverage and support.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with certification.
- Current CPR certification.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Fluency in Korean or Spanish required; bilingual in Korean/English preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills required.
- Previous experience in Oncology or Hematology preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work collaboratively.
- Ability to maintain emotional stability and provide excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.
